Bedroom Interior Design
deGuise Interiors designs bedrooms, from a primary suite that’s never felt finished to a guest room still waiting on furniture. Bedrooms tend to get put off longer than any other room, since it’s the one space nobody sees but you. Living rooms get furnished first because guests see them, kitchens get renovated because everyone uses them, and the bedroom just sits there, half-decided, for years.
Work with a bedroom interior designer who handles layout, furniture, fabric, lighting, and finishes, then manages sourcing and installation so nothing gets left half done.
Bedroom Interior Design Services
We start with layout and furniture planning, measuring the room and mapping out how furniture will sit within it so the space feels balanced, not crowded near the door or empty against one wall. Lighting comes next, mixing overhead, bedside, and accent lighting so the room works at different times of day.
From there we move into fabric, wallpaper, and finishes, choosing materials that hold up and look right in the room’s natural light, suited to the Lowcountry climate. If there’s furniture, art, or a family piece you already own and want to keep, we design around it along the way.
Bedroom Design for Every Type of Space
Every bedroom has its own job to do. A primary suite, a guest room, and a small secondary bedroom all need different things, so we plan each one around how it gets used.
Primary Bedroom
More square footage to work with, sometimes a sitting area, and closets or an en-suite that need to connect visually to the room. We plan storage early, since a beautiful bedroom that can’t hold your everyday things falls apart fast, and we think through the sightlines between the bedroom and en-suite so the two spaces feel like one finished room.
Guest Bedroom
A guest room needs to feel welcoming without pulling attention away from the rest of your home’s style. Good bedding, enough storage for a visitor’s things, and lighting that works for someone unfamiliar with the room.
Small Bedroom
Many homes in the Mount Pleasant area, especially older ones, have secondary bedrooms that need furniture and layouts scaled to fit. We focus on furniture sized right for the room, storage that doesn’t eat up floor space, mirrors placed to open things up, and color choices that keep the room feeling light. A small room done right doesn’t feel like a compromise.
Large Bedroom
Too much open space with nothing to anchor it is its own problem. We balance the scale so the room doesn’t feel empty, build in a seating area where the space allows, and use layered lighting and a rug to define the different zones in the room.
Bedroom Styles We Design
Modern
Modern bedroom interior design leans on clean lines, a simple color palette, and furniture that doesn’t compete with the room, calm and functional, with enough texture to avoid feeling cold.
Coastal
Coastal bedroom interior design leans on light, breathable fabrics suited to Lowcountry humidity and sun, with natural texture and a soft palette that fits the area, not a beach cliché.
Luxury
Luxury bedroom interior design leans on custom finishes, statement lighting, and sourcing from trusted design brands for clients who want a full custom build, with every piece chosen with intention.
