Meet the team
deGuise was founded in Mt. Pleasant in 1985 by Gigi Chapman, with one rule that still holds: never put anything in the showroom she wouldn’t put in her own home. Four decades later, Gigi and Despi Filippakis run the floor together, with a third designer on the team. The three of them are in the showroom every day.
Gigi is the one most likely to talk you into the wallpaper you didn’t know you needed and the one who knows every fabric in the library by name. Despi has the eye for the room that’s almost there but missing the one thing, and she’s the designer most likely to push back when you say “I don’t think I can pull that off.” (You can.) She runs point on installs and leads the team’s most layered, pattern-mixed rooms.
Walk in any day Mon-Sat between 10 and 6. One of us will be there.
