Interior Design Consultation Services

Not sure where to start, or already partway into a project and need help deciding what comes next? An interior design consultation gives you time to talk through your space, what you want to change, and where you want the room to go. We can discuss a single room, several rooms, or a larger home project and determine how deGuise Interiors can help.

The Consultation

Discuss Your Space and Design Goals

A consultation can be the first step in a new project or a chance to bring some direction to work that’s already underway. We’ll talk about the rooms you’re considering, what isn’t working now, the style you want, and any furniture or pieces you’d like to keep.

If you’ve already started making changes, we can look at what’s been done so far and discuss what the space needs next, from furniture and lighting to fabrics, wallpaper, artwork, and other finishing details.

What We Can Discuss

Design Details We Can Work Through

Every project is different, so the consultation is built around what you need to work through. Depending on your space, we may discuss:

  • Furniture and room layouts
  • Colors, fabrics, and finishes
  • Lighting and window treatments
  • Wallpaper, rugs, art, and accessories
  • Existing furniture you want to keep
  • How different pieces and finishes can work together
  • A project already underway that needs direction
  • A new project you’re just starting to plan

The Design Plan

Turning the Consultation Into a Design Plan

Once we understand your space, goals, and priorities, we can talk about what makes sense next. That may mean designing a single room, working through several rooms, or developing a larger interior design project for your home.

The consultation gives us a clear understanding of where things stand before design work begins or continues. From there, deGuise Interiors can help with the design direction, furniture and lighting selections, fabrics and wallpaper, artwork, and other elements that bring the room together.

Why Start With deGuise Interiors

Why Start With deGuise Interiors

deGuise Interiors has spent close to 40 years designing homes across the Charleston area, led by principal designer Gigi Chapman, a fifth-generation Charlestonian. Our Mount Pleasant studio has fabric and wallpaper samples you can see and feel in person, along with the experience to work through both new projects and spaces that are already underway.

Every project starts with understanding the space and how you want it to feel and function. The consultation gives us that starting point so the design decisions that follow are built around your home and your priorities.

The Next Step

What happens after the consultation?

We’ll discuss what makes sense for your project based on your space, goals, and the work you want to complete. If you decide to move forward with deGuise Interiors, the consultation provides the starting point for the design work.
